Transfer to Materuni Village
Start with a scenic drive to Materuni Village. Along the way, enjoy views of lush landscapes and the towering Mount Kilimanjaro. The journey takes about an hour, and soon, you’ll arrive in the serene village.
Registration & Materuni Village Introduction
Once you arrive, complete the registration process with the village authorities. Afterward, meet your village host, who will give you a brief introduction to the history and culture of the Chagga community.
Hike to Materuni Waterfall
Next, embark on a short hike to the stunning Materuni Waterfall. This beautiful site, fed by Mount Kilimanjaro’s glaciers, offers the perfect spot to cool off. If you can’t climb the mountain, you can swim in its refreshing waters!
Local Chagga Lunch
After your hike, enjoy a traditional Chagga lunch prepared with fresh, locally sourced ingredients. This meal gives you a true taste of village life while providing a deeper understanding of the Chagga culture and hospitality.
Coffee Making Experience
Next, dive into a DIY coffee-making experience. Learn the traditional process of turning beans into a delicious cup of coffee. As you make your coffee, you’ll also join in on local songs. Once the coffee is ready, savor the fruit of your labor, brewed fresh and enjoyed in good company.
Departure & Return
As the day comes to an end, bid farewell to the village and board the vehicle for your return trip. You’ll be dropped off at your designated location around 4:30 PM, with wonderful memories from your day in Materuni.
